Greenwich migrant hub is charity organization and a drop in advice centre offering free advice to vulnerable migrant and I had the opportunity to volunteer to work in the kitchen as an assistant chef to service the people in that community.I helped in preparing hot foods, serving, packing of hampers and also cleaning the hub after each session. It was a nice experience being able to give something back into the society.
Baxterstory is catering company that caters for lots of big companies and I had the opportunity to work with them as a deli supervisor. I initially joined the company in November 2005 and left in 2009 when I had a child and returned 2013. As a deli supervisor I had to prepared all the sandwich fillings from fresh everyday and I also have to make fresh sandwiches everyday. As a deli supervisor I wasn't just handling the deli department, i was also a very good desert chef and I baked cakes, make coffee, work in the front till with the restaurant team and also help around where extra hand is needed. My input hard work with the company and the team I worked with makes me noticeable to everyone around and that includes the customers because of my contagious smile and communicating skills with everyone. I was able to be one of the few ones the company always approached whenever there is a new restaurant about to open. I was always able to represent in all aspect of food preparations.
One complete solution is a company that provides both cleaning and catering to other companies and I worked with them as a restaurant assistant where I had the opportunity to meet new and interact with people on a daily basis. A an OCS staff, i was working inside Royal Free Hospital as a restaurant assistant where I served hot made food to customers and also lias with the deli bar team when needed because of my experience as a deli supervisor. Working with the deli team was always fun and interesting.
The company sometimes are short of a staff due to unforeseen circumstances that year and was asked who could help until the agency staff arrived, i was glad to come forward and I covered the coffee shop team which was also fun too. Baxterstory is a catering company situtated inside associated newspaper, I joined the company as a restaurant assistant but I always work in every department that needs extra hand starting from the restaurant to the coffee shop.
