• Work closely with the department manager to supervise the daily activities of the team
• Assign staff based on their skills and experience in a suitable manner
• Ensure that staff have a clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities, as well as the standards of performance and conduct expected of them during their span of duty
• Motivate and guide staff members to ensure that they work together efficiently, managing time and resources effectively
• Act as a substitute for the department manager when needed
• Act as a role model for junior staff
• Support the department in promoting new ways of working that support and contribute towards Divisional and corporate objectives and improvement programs
• Make sure that the policies agreed upon at the trust-wide level within the responsible area are followed
• Engage in clinical practice while overseeing and coordinating activities in the operating theatre
• Strictly follow the Patient Safety Checklist provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO)
• Maintain a sufficient supply of consumables in the operating theatre
• Assemble, check, prepare, and coordinate the use of surgical equipment, drugs, and consumables for the operative procedure
• Ensure nursing records are accurate, clear, and comprehensive, following NMC guidelines and unit directives
• Maintain sensitivity when handling complicated and confidential information from patients, families, and colleagues, providing advice and support as needed
• In conjunction with the department manager, maintain collaborative working relationships and effective communication between all members of the multidisciplinary team, resolving conflict, and working within the team to ensure a high standard of coordinated patient care
• Support the implementation of an effective appraisal system, ensuring that all staff have set objectives that identify and support individual development and training needs
• Participate in the supervision, training, and effective mentorship of junior staff, student nurses, and Health Care Assistants
• Assist the department manager in planning off-duty rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix to meet patient needs
• Ensure that all local and national policies, procedures, and guidelines are adhered to and report any failure to do so appropriately
• Make sure all team members adhere to the Trust's uniform and dress code policy.

• Setting up the Operating theatre for the surgery
• Strictly following the WHO patient safety checklist
• Assemble, Check, Prepare, and Coordinate the use of Surgical equipment, drugs and consumables for the operative procedure
• Act in the circulation role, and promote a patient focused approach to care in collaboration with all relevant healthcare professionals
• Documentation of care provided to patient
• Specimen collection, labelling and logging
• Act as a assessor and supervisor for student nurses and as mentor for new starters staff nurses
• Implementing essential measures during emergency situation including CPR
• Transfer of patient to recovery with all updated patient documentation.

• Admission and discharge process of the patient in Department
• Providing emotional support to patient and patient's family members
• Close monitoring the vital signs and other parameters
• Carrying out any requested or required diagnostics tests and also updating the respective results in the patients file
• Inform doctor any negative changes in patients tests or vital signs
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Prevention of complications associated with ICU stay
• Implementing essential measures during emergency situation including CPR
• Preparing Care plan according to patient's need
• Collaborating with other ICU team member.
