Reflective and highly motivated educator with experience teaching music across individual, group, and curriculum-based settings. A graduate of Leeds Conservatoire with a BA (Hons) in Jazz Studies and a prior degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, bringing a strong interdisciplinary understanding of creativity, problem-solving, and structured learning. Experienced working with children and beginners across different ages, abilities, and learning styles through both formal syllabi and student-centred teaching approaches. Passionate about education, child development, and helping young people build confidence, curiosity, and independent learning habits.
Raised in a family of teachers and academics, I developed an early appreciation for education, curiosity, and lifelong learning. Through years of studying and teaching music, I learned the importance of helping students understand ideas deeply rather than relying on memorisation alone. Studying improvisation and instrumental performance strengthened my understanding of creativity as a form of real-time problem-solving. This perspective shapes how I value foundational learning in subjects such as mathematics and science, where strong conceptual understanding is essential. I am particularly drawn to primary education because it provides the opportunity to help children develop confidence, curiosity, resilience, and positive learning habits during formative years.
