Billy Phillips

My musical work experience has come as a session and band musician. I been making money from playing in bands for over a year and there is a lot of valuable experience that comes with it. I have to be a fast learner to learn and remember vast repertoire. I have to be a confident collaborator because I work with many other musicians and am constantly engaging with the public. And, I have experience with planning and logistics with transporting myself and my equipment to an array of different venues. The session side of my work has been going on since earlier this year and it has given me great experience in working to a brief and making other peoples wants my top priority. I have always succeeded in listening to my clients, planning and preparing fully and executing my work professionally.

In this role, I gained a number of useful skills. I primarily worked on the till which involved working at speed whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer service. A lot of the customer base at Joshua's are of the older generation so I have excellent skill in going above and beyond for customers who required it. This included things like loading shopping into their cars, engaging in conversations and being generally easy to get along with. As well as this, I expanded into different roles like working in the cafe which included cooking, serving and washing up. I even have experience in working in the warehouse pricing up and managing stock. I have also been involved with more hands on work when required. I have assembled furniture, moved the format of the shop and around and done outdoor gardening/maintenance work.
