• Maintain a visible HSE presence across sites, rigs and project locations, building workforce trust while reinforcing safe behaviours and compliance expectations.
• Advise management, supervisors, personnel and subcontractors on HSE requirements, safe systems of work and practical delivery of project standards.
• Review risk assessments, method statements, lift plans, toolbox talks and permit controls to confirm hazards are understood, and effective controls are in place.
• Conduct formal audits, inspections and safety observations, close out actions promptly and share lessons learned across project teams.
• Manage general, hot-work and special-condition permits required before work starts, ensuring permit-to-work requirements are understood and followed.
• Lead and support accident and incident investigations, identify root causes, agree corrective actions and communicate learning to prevent recurrence.
• Use behavioural safety programmes and incident trend data to address unsafe patterns, reinforce good practice and challenge at-risk behaviours.
• Support HSE committees, project reviews, and safety meetings, ensuring actions are tracked, owned and closed in a timely manner.
• Interpret company procedures, client requirements, and relevant legislation to provide clear guidance to project and operational teams.
• Develop, implement and improve HSE management systems, procedures and site initiatives that raise safety performance and compliance standards.
• Coordinate emergency response activity, including on-scene coordination, fire and rescue support, drills, and readiness checks.
• Support project management with HSE objectives, performance reporting, compliance monitoring, and implementation of client and statutory requirements.
• Advise on high-risk activities including working at height, crane operations, heavy lifting, confined space entry, scaffolding, and mechanical works.
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, coaching, and HSE training for employees, contractors, and new starters.
• Mentor local and national HSE personnel, encouraging ownership, consistent reporting, and continuous improvement across project sites.
