Bilal Suleman

Bradford

Summary

As a dedicated and forward-thinking GPST3 registrar approaching CCT, I have developed strong clinical expertise and adaptability through diverse experience in both Bradford and the Pennine region. I thrive in both independent and team-based settings, regularly undertaking duty doctor responsibilities, managing urgent queries, triaging patients, and conducting home visits. Proficient in both face-to-face and telephone consultations, I am committed to delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. Passionate about continuous learning and professional growth, I am actively expanding my skill set by completing dermoscopy training and a joint injection course. I have a strong interest in medical education, teaching, and mentoring, alongside a deep commitment to lifestyle and preventative medicine, particularly the role of nutrition in long-term health. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about improving efficiency in primary care, leveraging digitalisation and AI to enhance patient outcomes and streamline practice workflows. I am looking to join a dynamic, forward-thinking practice with a strong team ethos, where I can contribute to high-quality patient care while further developing my skills in a supportive and progressive environment.

QIA and Audits

  • Present- Optimising Compliance with NICE Guidance on Bisphosphonate 5-Year Reviews – Leading an ongoing Quality Improvement Audit (QIA) to assess adherence to NICE guidelines for the five-year review of patients on bisphosphonates. Identifying areas for improvement, implementing targeted interventions, and refining patient review processes to enhance safety, evidence-based prescribing, and long-term osteoporosis management.
  • Feb 2024- Digitalisation of Consent Forms for Minor Surgery Procedures – Led an audit on transitioning consent forms for minor procedures, particularly coil insertions and removals, from paper-based to digital formats with embedded coding. This initiative improved efficiency, reduced administrative burden, enhanced data accuracy, and proved cost-effective for the practice. The digital consent system remains in active use, continuing to streamline workflows and support effective patient care.
  • Feb 2023- Assessing Cardiovascular Risk in Patients with Newly Diagnosed Gout – Conducted a Quality Improvement Audit (QIA) evaluating cardiovascular risk in patients newly diagnosed with gout using the QRISK tool. Identified high-risk patients, facilitated early preventative interventions, and improved adherence to best practice guidelines for cardiovascular disease prevention.

Leadership/additional experience

  • I have a strong understanding of the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and its importance in healthcare settings. In my current role, I have worked closely with the QOF lead to improve QOF adherence by ensuring accurate coding practices and have actively contributed to enhancing QOF performance. My experience has strengthened my ability to effectively manage coding accuracy and support continuous improvement in QOF outcomes.
  • In my role, I have had the opportunity to work closely with senior partners, addressing and resolving various patient complaints. These complaints were not directed towards me, but rather involved a variety of concerns from patients. Through this experience, I developed strong problem-solving and communication skills, learning how to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy. Collaborating with senior partners allowed me to gain valuable insights into conflict resolution and patient care, further enhancing my ability to contribute positively to the practice and improve patient satisfaction.
  • I have also worked closely with senior partners in managing coroner requests, ensuring the timely and accurate provision of information. This experience has honed my attention to detail and my ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion. It has further strengthened my communication skills and my ability to collaborate effectively within a team to address complex and urgent matters.
