Betsy Skilton–House

My name is Betsy, I’m 20 years old and currently seeking a position in the beauty and skincare industry following the successful completion of my Level 2 and Level 3 Diplomas in Beauty Therapy. Additionally, I am set to begin a 14-week Level 4 qualification in September 2025 to further enhance my expertise in advanced skin treatments.

After completing my A Levels, I took a year out to work and save for university. During this time, I had a complete change of heart about my career path. I’ve always had a deep interest in skincare and beauty, and this passion grew stronger as I began to explore and experiment with my own skincare routine. I became fascinated by the impact that treatments, lifestyle, and product knowledge can have on our skin in general. This personal journey, along with inspiration from successful women in the beauty industry, confirmed that this is something I want to pursue.

My training has provided me with practical experience in a salon-like environment, including managing client bookings, carrying out multiple treatments per day, and supporting fellow students in team-based settings. I also completed work experience at The Beauty Island Sanctuary Spa in Worthing, which gave me valuable insight into the operations of a professional salon and further enhanced my client care skills.

In Level 2 I learnt anatomy & physiology, facials & client care. Level 3 has been so insightful on treatments I am most interested in: working with client’s skin concerns, using advance machines, & training in a wide range of facials. In Level 4 I will lean laser hair removal and skin treatments like IPL.

I would like to train further in all aspects of advanced medical beauty and skin/beauty treatments. I am passionate about helping people feel confident in their skin and committed to delivering exceptional service. I would love the opportunity to be part of your team, expand and learn new skills and treatments, becoming a better therapist, will working alongside fellow colleagues.
