At Peter Jackson's jewellers I was expected to assist customers by providing a high level of service. As a Sales assistant I would be required to answer product related questions and give expert answers. This was an essential part of the job as each employee had coursework and work books to complete which allowed us to advise and complete sales. Furthermore, in each quarter we would have assessment days where we would be brought together to work as a team on team based activities which encouraged team spirit etc These days were also used to educate us on new items. As an employee of a Jewellers I acted and dressed respectively. During my time here I managed my own display section in which I kept tidy and organised. This role was challenging as I we had to meet personal sales targets and store sale targets so the pressure was always on. In addition to this the hours were a compulsory 50 hours a week.
My position as Peter Jackson's was temporary as I was covering a staff member who was on maternity leave. However, as my first proper job I learnt a lot from this role and the role benefited me as a person to become the employee I am today

This promotion gave me new responsibility and authority and allowed me to lead the resturant staff on a daily basis. I feel like I was an effective employee as I always encouraged team work and I dealt with problems appropriately. I left Seniors on good terms and and they fully supported me moving to Manchester to study at University
I studied at Manchester Metropolitan University and was award a 2:1 Degree in Education Studies. After my time studying I welcomed my first daughter, this was unfortunately met with the start of the covid pandemic and so it only made sense to stay home for a while before looking at work.
