
I am currently in my third and final year studying BSc Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Brighton. I am passionate about the benefits of exercise in relation to promoting longer and healthier lifestyles and firmly believe in the link between physical and mental health and wellbeing and am keen to share the benefits of this and support others in achieving through a variety of mediums. I have a keen interest in working with seldom heard and marginalised groups to ensure inclusivity for all to enable people to achieve the things they want and need to do ,despite any challenges they may have, to live a meaningful and fulfilling life
Worked with young adults with Down Syndrome and learning difficulties supporting them to access a variety of sports to promote a healthy lifestyle. This included addressing accessibility barriers and adapting the sport to ensure inclusivity for all
As part of this job, I have completed safeguarding courses ensuring that I am aware of best practices and am creating an inclusive and safe environment for all. As part of this role, I plan each session and then write up an evaluation to ensure that I am meeting all the skateboarders needs each week.
I love outdoor pursuits and am particularly passionate about skateboarding and parkour, competing in skateboarding at a national level. I strive to achieve and surpass my goals and enjoy encouraging others to do the same. I am an excellent communicator and love working with others as part of a team supporting people to be their best in their chosen activity. . I have a special interest in understanding any links with neurodiversity in relation to engaging in extreme sport and physical activity to promote wellbeing and am currently writing my dissertation on how extreme sport can benefit people with ADHD.
