In all of my jobs, I will make sure that I give my 100% in everything that I do.
I am a very easy going person. I enjoy working with new people and interacting with customers. I never let my personal life get involved with my work life.
When I was working as a support worker I had many different roles to help people.
When I was a cashier in The Range, I had multiple things that I had to do to keep the store in check :
When I was working at Pizza Hut I had a few responsibilities.
When I was a personal carer for my mum, I had a lot of responsibilities to do at a young age due to my mother being disabled and had ongoing health problems.Along with my mother’s disabilities she has memory loss problems. Therefore, I have always had to order and dispense her medications as well as help with her wheelchair, bathing and getting dressed. I also help prepare her meals and housework.
I had attend all my mother’s doctor and hospital appointments as her memory problems means she will not remember what was discussed at an appointment.
I then relay this information to the family when they call or to other doctors or my mother’s friends. From looking after my mother I have learned responsibility, compassion, empathy and the importance of organisation.
When I was working at the cafe part time, my job roles included:
As my first job I was working in the tearoom as a catering assistant. I was helping in the Kitchen, taking orders, making drinks, serving customers and clearing the tables. I enjoyed my job and working with people. I really enjoyed serving customers.
Although I was in a junior position, my job always required responsibility as I was working with babies, toddlers and children depending on my schedule that week.
When I was working with the pre-school group (ages 3-5). I would help the children develop their phonics, writing, reading and numeracy skills, preparing the children for primary school. This would also include role play to help develop their creativity.
In the Gnome group (ages 21⁄2 -3). I would help the children with skills to help problem solving, reasoning, numeracy, literacy and writing.
In the Elves group (ages 2-21⁄2). This group was structured in a way to help the children develop social skills and learn to be tolerant of other children in the group. This also included messy play time and show and tell which help the children build their confidence.
