I volunteer alternative sundays at the AMC on site. I originally started with working on the Paddocks section but switched over to work with the Cats and Dogs. A lot of my tasks are around cleaning either deep cleans with the cats or spot cleaning the dogs kennels to help take out any waste.

I also:

• Kept up with wellbeing and hygiene needs for the animals by feeding, cleaning and walking them when needed.
• Helped calm shy or frightened pets feel more comforable with me by being patient and having gentle interactions with them.
• I have helped out on the other sections when needed due to being understaffed and learned their tasks quickly, which shows im prepared to work in new situation suddenly.

At Code Ninjas i would help kids aged 8 - 14 learn coding after school hours and during half terms. I would also interact with the parents and help them with any questions and share what their kids had been doing during the day, this meant that I learned how to be respectful whilst raising concerns or worries about behaviours.

I also:

• Interacting with young people with complex needs and conditions.
• Was able to stay vigilant in stressful situations to keep the kids in my care safe.
• Demonstrated respect and friendliness to everyone and helped with a lot of different kinds of tasks from coding to physical.
• Made the environment more welcoming for kids by drawing fun things on the whiteboards inside and taking the time to learn each kids personalities, even if they were only in for a tour once.
• Took over admin tasks when needed.
• Learned new skills quickly to be able to teach to others.
• Familiar with health and safety procedures.
