I have always been in the agricultural scene as my father was a farmer and I have worked alongside him since I was young. From my start at New Shoots LTD I have been helping with field operations, such as being a drill operator with their precision sponge drill and have developed a strong understanding of both the machine and the technologies of the tractors guidance system. In 2025 I worked mainly on irrigation, in which I developed my teamworking skills as well as planning due to us often having 40+ pulls per day split between two teams of two. This took careful planning to work efficiently and lots of teamwork to ensure we all shared the pressure equally. Despite mainly doing irrigation, I still helped all teams of the farm with other jobs; cultivations, fertilising, drilling, planting, trailer driving, fleecing and mowing. I have spent both winter seasons at New Shoots in the workshop doing maintenance and repairs on all machinery, with some experience of welding.
