At Hollywood bowl the centre went through a lane change to the newest tech. This lead to the technician role moving to a facilities role. In this role I am tasked to keep the centre in good shape and lanes in good order. My jobs can range from painting, fire and panic alarm testing, general maintenance, safety checks and inspection ensuring customers are at the forefront of the experience, making sure toilets are working properly, indoor and outdoor lighting checks and replacement, keeping ancillary equipment in check while following health and safety. This also includes 25k services and maintenance based on machine performance or every 3 months which ever came first. In this role I also completed daily opening and closing procedures ensuring security of the site, recording of meter reads such as machines frame counts, gas, electric and water. Accepted deliveries of goods and equipment and sorted them into correct places and order. I supervised contractors to constantly meet and exceed centre standards and specification. Facilitated smooth on site operation by providing emergency and absence cover for the team. litter picked to keep the carpark clean and tidy while doing regular weed killing grass cutting and other gardening jobs.

In this role I was taught the ins and outs of bowling machines and technology. How to perform regular maintenance and give the customer the best game possible by keeping the machines fault free. I would perform preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance based on the situation while strictly adhering to relevant health and safety. I also took care of the front of house doing painting, general repairs, toilet fixes, cleaning of hazardous materials, technology fixes and troubleshooting, wiring and electrical work. While in this role I attained a certificate to do like for like electrical work at a competent level. I learnt how to use chemicals safely and adhere to COSHH regulation set by HSE. Also correct PPE situation dependant. I outlined possible safety hazards through diligent risk assessments and analyses, making sure these are followed through to endure health and safety is met. I identified needs of maintenance and repair work while fixing them myself or scheduling them in for repair.

In this role I fulfilled and enhanced the customer experience. Whether that be serving drinks on the bar, to cleaning, meeting and greeting customer on the lanes and helping them through out the stay. My favourite part of this role was surprise and delight were I got to celebrate the game with the customer, handing out stickers, giving high fives and congratulating people while keeping it fresh and playful.
