Commercial Rotation:
- Created target cost forecasts for upcoming works and compared them against actual out-turn costs, improving cost accuracy.
- Prepared and submitted Compensation Events (CEs) with cost and time impacts in line with NEC contracts.
- Managed sub-contractor accounted, purchase orders and final accounts for projects up to £5 million.
- Prepared monthly applications for payment on Excel and assisted in the review and assessment of supplier applications.
- Developed detailed cost plans and activity schedules for upcoming works, ensuring alignment with project scope, programme, and tender allowances.
- Produced monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports, analysing cost vs value, forecasting final out-turn costs, and ensuring the overall financial health of projects.
- Developed a staff resource tracker by allocating tender labour hours across the project scope using the programme, and inputting actual hours monthly to monitor performance, identify variances, and ensure projects remained within budget.
Planning rotation:
- Developed and maintained project programmes using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, tracking progress and identifying potential delays.
- Created Compensation Event (CE) programmes to demonstrate the time impact of delays, submitted alongside cost build-ups to recover both time and financial losses.
- Produced professional PDF reports from programme updates, including critical path analysis, incomplete activities, 2- and 4-week lookaheads, and live programme snapshots.
- Wrote clear narrative reports to explain programme changes, delays, and impacts, ensuring project managers and clients understood the reasoning behind updates.
- Created an AI-powered report generator to automatically produce programme update summaries, including changes in planned completion, critical path activities, newly added activities, and duration changes. Successfully implemented this tool across the team, improving efficiency and enabling more detailed updates to be provided to project managers and clients.
Site Rotation:
- Assisted in the preparation of Health & Safety documentation, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS) and Construction Phase Plans (CPP), ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
- Managed and coordinated subcontractors on site, monitoring progress, quality, and safety standards.
- Liaised closely with engineers, subcontractors, site managers, and clients to ensure works were delivered safely, on time, and in line with drawings and specifications.
- Conducted site inspections and supported reporting on progress, risks, and quality issues.
- Gained practical experience of how site activities impact costs, programmes, and commercial outcomes, strengthening collaboration with planning and commercial teams.
