  • Manage 21 staff to include holiday/staff sickness, return to work processes and one to one supervisions.

Safety Systems Technician

  • Control various site safety systems, including the control and maintenance of the Incident and Emergency Response Team; (IERT) including related equipment.
  • Cross-site responsibility, in Ware, West London, Cambridge, and City, giving assistance to other sites in Stevenage and Weybridge where necessary.
  • Test and maintain all battery-operated lighting units and signal distress units, specialised fire protection systems, including Fume cupboard quench systems.
  • Check and carry out scheduled services of all IERT equipment, chemical suits, decontamination equipment and breathing apparatus, fixed fire hose reels, fire hydrants, dry risers, drench, sprinkler systems and foam inlets.
  • Attend any incident and conduct investigations to report back to Senior Management.
  • Liaise with EH&S departments and representatives.
  • Oversee minor works projects to completion when projects encroach on site safety systems and their operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and communicate any additional actions required to line management.

  • Providing yearly costs to each Area for services carried out by Royal & Sun Alliance and ensuring cost efficiency is maintained.
  • Generating and closing of weekly maintenance work orders – and issuing reports highlighting shortfalls/ turnaround times.
  • Carry out modifications to equipment details and structures, PM’s and instruction lists as dictated by the Area Engineers.
  • Maintaining and updating the Time & Variable Based Maintenance systems i.e. run to Breakdown (RTB) & Condition Based Monitoring (CBM).
