To provide engineering support in design, development and operation of all manufacturing systems to continuously improve productivity and economically produce products of maximum quality.

Summary of responsibilities and personal duties

• Manage and train Assistant Die Cast Engineering Manager / Die Cast Senior Engineers / Engineers.
• Manage daily function of the Engineering department, and achievement of departmental and company goals and objectives.
• Create and manage all departmental budgets, Impregnation budgets, outside material defect budgets and CapEx budgets.
• Set productivity targets for the plant annually.
• Create BEPP (Break Even Point of Production) targets and action plan.
• Provide engineering support to all areas of manufacturing.
• Authorise Design suggestions.
• Authorise Request for Quotation and process for new business.
• Agree specification and commissioning of new production equipment and processes.
• Ensure smooth SOP.
• Provide engineering support to Die Maintenance during die making, modification and maintenance. Maintain die drawings to ensure that engineering revisions are reflected.
• Design of production tooling and processes and estimation of their costs.
• Drive implementation of new technologies including specification and research
• Initiate and develop good working relationships with customer engineering and Quality Assurance personnel.
• Support Sales and Quality Assurance departments as required.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Continuously improve efficiency of facilities and processes.
• Participate with team working, information sharing, 5S and Continuous Improvement Programmes.
• Comply with Company Environmental Policy and requirements of the Environmental Management System both in normal and emergency situations.
