I was a sales assistant for 2 weeks as part of work experience at Oakland Carpets Ltd is a local carpet and rug retailer located at 676-678 Washwood Heath Road in Birmingham (B8 2HQ).

My responsibilities included:

  • Negotiating prices with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Calculating the cost of carpet samples per square metre.
  • Answering phone calls for bookings and customer enquiries.
  • Taking notes of customers' needs and requirements to help provide suitable products and services.
  • Serving drinks to customers to create a welcoming and positive experience.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the shop.
