  • Stamford Townswomen's Guild choir

and have stood in as conductor and choir director on an ad hoc basis

  • Abbey Consort - for the production of a Christmas CD
  • Stamford All Saints

My other main passion is sewing and textiles. Again from a very early age, I started sewing and have undertaken many varying projects apart from dress designing and making

Examples include:

  • Soft furnishings
  • Quilted bedspreads
  • Starting and running the first Stamford High School uniform shop, where I created patterns and instructions for sports skirts, tunics. Making up tunics, skirts, dresses and selling the patterns for parents. Working and directing two further employees
  • Repairing school equipment and uniforms
  • Making school banners
  • Church vestments: albs, stoles, cassocks, shirts, chasubles, alar frontals and pulpit and lecturn falls
  • Goldwork embroidery
  • Machine embroidery

I am a fully confirmed, practising Christian beginning my journey from the age of 9, when I joined the choir at Wittering All Saints. I led Sunday school when I was old enough and supported my sister and much later, my mother, when they decided that they wished to become confirmed.

I have always loved Bible study and took the subject at A level, and then on to be my second subject when training to teach. I was trained at a time when the nature of Jesus was being widely discussed and the ILEA RE curriculum was released for London schools  to teach to, and was fortunate to be lectured by a prominent Methodist Dr Wolf, who actively encouraged widely ranging discussion of the subject. We also studied Comparitive Religions which was not common at the time, and I have developed an interest in the practice of Abrahamic religions as well as Hinduism, following my son's marriage to his Hindu wife.

I worked as a Lay leader in the Nar Valley group in Norfolk, with a team to deliver Morning Praise services throughout the group of 7 parishes

This is where I began my ministry of Intercessions as well as Ante-Communion leadership under Revd Canon Stuart Nairn

I continue my intercession and music ministry at Stamford All Saints, and am developing my pastoral ministry, especially for carers of people with Dementia

When I have time, I also enjoy reading and cooking
