Summary

Since leaving school I have completed an NC in Animal Care whilst staying away from home. I am currently attending SRUC to complete my HNC in Animal care to further build my knowledge and skills for my future career. During my last year at college i was part time within a desert shop, which has provided me with skills in working with the public, working as part of a team and providing a service.

Since moving to Dumfries full time, I am hoping to find part time work closer to my college. I am currently attending college five days a week therefore i am seeking employment around my college commitment.

I am an organised person, who is a fast learner and willing to consider most types of jobs. My current experience is mainly in hospitality/cooking and within animal care settings, however, I believe that many of the skills I have learnt can be transferred to most settings.

Peer Volunteer

Focus Youth Group
Uddingston, North Lanarkshire
2022.06 - 2022.08

I volunteered at my local Focus Youth Project as part of my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. This commitment was weekly as part of the summer programme and involved supervising young people aged 11-12 years old, taking part in the activities within the centre and activities in the community.

The purpose of my involvement was to offer support to the paid workers to organise the groups, offer good role modelling to the younger children and encouraging them to participate and get the best out of the group.

As part of this role I completed daily register and reports on the topics and activities that had been completed that day.

If I had any concerns about any of the young people I had responsibility to notify the paid workers.
