Ava Hurley

As a voluntary dance school assistant supporting infants, I assist the lead instructor in guiding young children through basic dance movements and exercises. I help create a positive and supportive environment ensuring that the children feel comfortable and encouraged to express themselves.

Skills I have developed include:

• Communication: Effectively communicating with children to explain dance steps and provide encouragement.
• Teamwork: Collaborating with the lead instructor and other assistants.
• Patience: Demonstrating patience when working with young children.
• Problem Solving: Adapting to challenges that arise during the class, such as keeping young children engaged or managing behavioural issues.

During a week-long placement at LSEG, I shadowed many departments, and attended workshops to enhance my skill sets, including:

• Public Speaking

I gained valuable insights into the world of Finance, Technology, and Corporate Law, and have a better understanding of professional workplace behaviour.
