2nd Line IT Support

Working onsite for ADP in Chertsey, I was a member of a 4-man team supporting all hardware and software for the 400 users located onsite. Desktop OS’s ranged from Windows 7 to working on and implementing a Windows 10 upgrade, providing support for Microsoft Office suites 2010 and 2016.


Responsibilities:

  • Taking in 2nd line support issues and escalations that get sent to the helpdesk via remote support, or the 1st Line support telephone;
  • Support internal staff with IT issues;
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers and offer tailored professional advice and support to all members of staff, being it junior or Senior Leadership
  • Highlight improvement areas to the IT management
  • Escalation if required for more complex issues to the relevant teams;
  • Undertaking extensive training as and when required;
  • Using the ticketing system to log, work and resolve requests;
  • Support users with computer equipment and peripherals including telephone and mobile devices;
  • Deal with all queries, incidents coming through and provide solutions where possible, owning the resolution of each customer query;
  • Prioritise effectively within tight SLAs and a fast paced user environment;
  • Log all calls and resolutions on the ServiceNow ticketing system;

Project contributions

· Installing new hardware into racks including servers, switches and UPS’s, cabling for power and networks

· Moving departmental pcs to new areas, creating a user asset sheet and diagram of how it looked and replicated at new location

Night Supervisor

  • Loaded and unloaded 3-5 vans nightly, working efficiently to ensure no re-runs are present; thus improving workflow overall.
  • Carried out night shift operations, working 8+ hour shifts, 5 days weekly.
  • Lifted over 75+ kgs, including mailbags and heavy parcels regularly, keeping me physically fit.
  • Maintained and processed bulk orders up to 756 boxes.
  • Due to my high levels of efficiency and work ethic, I would often be called upon to cover various other areas within the warehouse, this includes: covering vans of those absent, sometimes increasing my van count to 6 and as such, doubled at minimum the quantity of parcels I had to sort and load.
  • Sorting packages that were required to be at another Distribution Center and reverse loading them onto trailers.
  • Working the split: sorting parcels at the top end of the belt before they reach the vans, in order to filter those which were to be directed elsewhere in the warehouse.
  • Trained new members of staff, teaching them the intricacies of the job.
