I am an enthusiastic and dedicated student currently pursuing biomedical science at university who is currently seeking part-time employment that will allow me to develop practical skills while supporting my academic endeavours. With a strong work ethic and excellent communication abilities, I am confident in my ability to thrive in a part-time role.
I am adept at time management and can prioritize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines. I am a fast learner, adaptable, and proactive, always willing to take on new challenges and learn from them. Whether working independently or as part of a team, I am committed to producing high-quality work and maintaining a positive attitude in all situations. I am particularly interested in roles that will help me build customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as I aim to develop a well-rounded skill set that will benefit my future career.
From August 21st to 23rd, I observed the duties of a biomedical scientist in the pathology labs. I gained insight into the process a sample undergoes from reception to testing, logging, and potential forwarding to Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for further analysis. I applied my biological knowledge to prepare microscope slides from patient blood samples and analyzed them under a professional microscope. Additionally, I manually determined the blood group using monoclonal gel cards, a process typically performed by machine.
