Having finished my foundation year at University in Architecture i am now in the position to take on a full time position and i am really interested in the post as a receptionist. I have great interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with various situations, whilst maintaining composure under pressure and remaining professional at all times. I am a bubbly, loyal and understanding employee who will always remain a team player, i am proactive and able to prioritise tasks where needed. I am hard working with strong organisational skills but equally able to seek support if needed.
As part of my Role as Reception and Bar staff, i was welcoming people to the venue, checking in and booking slots for the golf effectively, taking orders for food and drink, cleaned the area to maintain high hygiene standards. I was able to Handle booking inquiries, cancellations and modify appointments where needed. I provided effective customer service and was able to handle customer complaints effectively and defusing the situation where needed, which improved customer satisfaction. I also assisted with party and was able to ensure these ran smoothly and everything was taken care of to ensure the birthday was made special.
I always arrive at work with a bright smile, friendly and bubbly personality, i was always on time and worked to the best of my ability to ensure customers were provided with a good experience. I really enjoyed this role as i got a chance to work with lots of children, adults and individuals with additional needs. I believe i have lots of transferable skills such as fantastic communication, listening skills, working under pressure and being able to defuse situations. Team work, working effectively, time management and being organised. I also believe i am adaptable and have resilience in changing environments and working in a fast pace environment.
I started playing basketball where i was quickly selected to play for Yorkshire and had a passion for this sport. I then was asked if i wanted to help assist coaching for my original club. I took this fantastic opportunity as i loved the sport and wanted to help others enjoy a sport i enjoyed. As part of this i also completed my learning hours as part of my Duke of Edinburgh award. One of the role i had was warming the children up, giving them clear instructions. I was able to build close relationships with players and their families, i was able to co-ordinate practice schedules to maximise skills to develop individuals on and off the court. I was able to implement diverse training drills and adapt these where needed. I was heavily involved in assisting children with additional needs and would adapt how i delivered some drills to ensure my sessions remained inclusive and that no one was left behind in the learning process. I was really encouraging and the kids found this as a positive as i was approachable and if a child was unsure about something they would come and ask and feel comfortable doing this.
One of the other things i would assist in is ensuring that play was safety was adhered too to minimise risk of injuries.
I took part in fundraising event which was great for the children as they enjoyed bringing money in for the club by doing a sport that they enjoy as well as keeping them fit, building friendships and having a great sports man ship.
I Worked in the sandwich shop where i would greet customers with a welcoming face, take their orders with speed and accuracy to ensure customers orders were full filled. I ensured that no allergies were present and asked about dietary requirements such as vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. I was responsible in ensuring that food safety was maintained, multitasking under pressure and effective communication was provided to ensure high quality customer service was delivered. I was also part of helping manage stock levels and rotating these where needed to ensure consistent product availability. I was also ensuring the venue was clean and tidy and that seating areas were available where possible for customers. I also Prepared take away orders where these were packaged accordingly. I took cash and card payments at checkout, providing correct change and receipts where needed.
I gained so many transferable skills in this job.
Time keeping, communication skills, listening skills, taking order and ensure these were delivered with customer satisfaction.
I believe i have the right skills for the job as I am a great communicator as well as having excellent listening skills, this was demonstrated in my previous work experience where i would greet customers with a friendly smile, deal with bookings and cancellations, taking orders for food and drink and also dealing with complex situations whilst still remaining calm under pressure I am able to communicate well via phone, email and face to face I believe a receptionist is the first person you see when you go into a surgery and believe that this is really important that a high level of communication is given, you are approachable, compassionate and understanding whilst also dealing with the query that has been presented
I have fantastic time management skills and pride myself on my working ability and work well with others too I have worked and supported children with Autism and also on a personal level as my brother is autistic and i feel that this is an asset i can bring to a job as i believe this has taught me to remain patient and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations This has also been shown in my previous employment as i have personally had to deal with complaints and have had to defuse the situation whilst remaining calm and professional at all times
Another strength i have is being computer literate, this has been demonstrated at university and also using computers at my previous employment I am a quick learning but equally i am able to ask for support if i feel this is needed
