My role as a Supervisor at Nandos is that I work in between the management team and Nandocas (What we call our team members) in the restaurant. As a supervisor I help in running the restaurant operations and learn the basics of what it is like being a Manager.
As a Buddy (Trainer) I am responsible to assist the Assistant Manager and Patrao (Manager) for training new staff with overall tasks to ensure the success of daily operations. As part of my role, I assess crew members' skills and offer them extra help with any tasks they may have problems with both back of house and front of house.
Soft Skills:
Every Shift I do at Nandos I have to communicate with team members of orders as support so customers get their food with good standards and as quick as possible
As a supervisor at Nandos I have to lead the team on shift and make sure they are doing their job effectively
A lot of the time working in the Nandos Restaurant we have customers who have food allergies or special requests and need to adjust an order without disrupting work flow
Sudden rushes in peak times when working at Nandos by adjusting the pace and priorities to handle high volumes of orders without losing accuracy
Handling long back to back shifts as I had to push through tiredness while maintaining good service
Making sure every plate of food that goes out to customers at Nandos I make sure the meal looks visually attractive to customers
Used innovation at Nandos by coming with new ways to reduce waste at the end of service time
At Nandos we can be very busy especially during holiday periods so we have to make sure Front of House and Back of House Staff are coordinating to keep orders accurate and on time
Had to use Time Management at Nandos during the busy shifts by prioritising multiple tables' needs without missing orders
Organisation is needed when rotating stock I have to organise supplies so ingredients and items are used in the right order (FIFO - First in, First out)
