Anura Wickramasinghe

• Designed and delivered technical training programs for school leavers and existing employees, focusing on skilled technical levels aligned with railway standards and national requirements.
• Planned and implemented training programs for non-engineering categories to meet the evolving needs of the railway sector.
• Delivered specialized training for government and private organizations, including Tri Forces, Lion Air and Holderbank cement company.
• Planned and organized in-plant training programs for engineering undergraduates and trainees from other technical training institutions, to meet their requirements and railway needs.
• Collaborated with GTZ experts for four years during the final phase to ensure the sustainability of the project by successfully integrating the Sri Lanka German Railway Technical Training Centre into Sri Lanka Railways.
• Railway Projects
• Planned and organized an international training program for 600 railway employees in various positions as Deputy Director of Human Resources, in collaboration with the Rites Indian agency from 2009 to 2010.
• Played a key role of getting the ADB approval for the second phase development project of Sri Lanka German Railway Technical Training Centre, worth 2 billion LKR from 2017-2018.
• Served as team leader for many inspection teams during the purchase of locomotives, DMUs, and machinery from France, India, and China for Sri Lanka Railways on several occasions from 2000 to 2018.
• Coordinate the committee responsible for restructuring the Railway Department into an Authority, from 2002 to 2004.
• Worked as the senior mechanical engineer, representing Sri Lanka Railways in the Indian project to rebuild the northern railway track from 2012 - 2014.

• Oversaw the readiness and safety of trains before operational release, ensuring optimal locomotive and carriage fleet performance.

• Oversaw mechanical maintenance of diesel-electric engines, Electrical maintenance of power sets, and all railway machinery to ensure smooth operations and ongoing maintenance across the entire railway network.

Railway Projects
