• Developed a particular interest in Respiratory medicine, bringing knowledge of Non Invasive Ventilation (NIV) obtained in Intensive Care into the Emergency Department, raising the profile of NIV outside of Intensive care and securing funds for new NIV technologies in the Emergency Department. This included the delivery of specific teaching on NIV in the Emergency Department.

• Learned to manage ventilated patients via ET tube and tracheostomies, dialysis care, drains, central lines, arterial lines and feeding tubes.
• Learned to confidently deliver sensitive medication, including inotropes and other specialist medication under strict vigilance and monitoring.

• First Job in the NHS, and first job as a qualified staff nurse in the United Kingdom, as a 22 years old newly qualified nurse from Spain.
• Was already proficient in English, both at a colloquial and medical level.
• This job provided a steep learning curve on how to work in a new country and new Healthcare Service, and gave me an invaluable insight on the NHS as a service, as well as a platform to learn guidelines and professional culture within the NHS.
