Core Lab Supervisor

• Inform the patient about any instructions or preparations and counsel him/her regarding the sampling requirements and result date.

General Medical Technologist

• Perform routine and STAT laboratory examinations in the section under the supervision of the Technologist-in-charge.
• Check if the specimens received are adequate and if the patient's name on the request corresponds to the written name on the labelled sample container.
• Ensures that all the required data are written in the request form, and verify with the referring doctor or his secretary if there is a need to ask for more patient data or other things pertinent to the requested laboratory procedure.
• Checks the proper entry of specimens in the logbook or entry sheet.
• Verifies that quality control results are within control range every day. If out-of-control, troubleshooting is done to find the causes and correct the problem.
• Checks and signs the typewritten result forms before releasing them.
• Supervises the work of Medical Technology Trainees rotating in their respective Sections.
• Ensures that the Section is clean and orderly at all times.
• Attends regularly the Laboratory Staff and Section meetings to be updated on the activities and other concerns of the Section or the Laboratory.
