• Whilst working as a Software Engineer in another department, I was head-hunted by both the Aerodynamics and IT Directors, offering me promotions within the company
• The IT role suited my career aspirations at that time and would see me transition in six months to Technical Lead/Development Manager
• My initial remit was to be the sole developer of business-critical manufacturing systems
• Implemented Process Change – I implemented an internal software development process for the delivery of manufacturing releases, including UAT
• When I joined the department there were 18 versions of the same application across the organisation!
• Implemented Data Replication – I introduced SQL Server Replication to restrict users querying directly on live instances, therefore protecting the data, and minimising any impact on performance
• Developed Production Dashboards – Worked with the Production Manager to agree requirements and design a suite of SSRS reports that showed the status of produced parts against delivered parts
• The dashboards displayed the status for upcoming events and were displayed throughout the company
