- Lead and develop staff in the department in order to improve teaching standards across the school
- Plan, write and develop the History curriculum in- line with the Curriculum for Wales
- Provide opportunities for pupils to learn outside of the classroom , e.g organise trips to museums, and war memorials
- Report and discuss students progress in line with school policy , in order to support pupil progress
- Administer examinations and ensure that all pupils and staff are clear on expectations and criteria for examinations
- Lead and manage department meetings, to allow for discussions on pupil progress and target settings
- Analyse school and departmental data in order to set targets for the department and to improve teaching standards/ grades at GCSE/A-Level
- Attend A -Level and GCSE courses in order to ensure that staff deliver and mark examination work accurately
- Organising the translation of different types of documents into German and from German into English
- Liaising with translators from different countries in order to organise deadlines
- Sending documents to different translators and ensuring that all documents were organised effectively
- Answering phone calls from different translators and negotiating deadlines and price for work produced
