Accomplishments

  • I was approached by Exeter college to deliver a talk on Speech and Language Therapy at a careers event for students, which I delivered with success. I have been invited back twice since and I have also offered CPD opportunities for staff.
  • Earnt a leadership role at the school I work in. I displayed leadership qualities within my role as Speech and Language Therapist and it was suggested that I would be appropriate for the role.
  • Accomplishment in developing universal provision throughout the school contributing to service delivery changes. Successfully implementing Colourful Semantics and Word Aware programmes throughout the school.
  • Approached the headteacher of the school I work in with an alternative to the reward system in place - keeping students needs in mind and ensuring a neuro-affirmative approach that is not compliance based. This also aimed to support life- skills and development.
  • Development of training to support neurodivergence within football for Silverton Football Club. Training delivered to coaches with follow up consultation. Resources provided to support visual timetables and joint codes of conducts.
  • Assessment completed in private work to contribute to EHCP application. Extensive assessment and report written to reflect the needs of the young person I was working with. Parental feedback was emotional in feeling for the first time that their son's needs were seen and heard.
  • Support offered to a local neuro-divergent playgroup - Attended to offer support and advice to parents.
