I am very family oriented and friends are important to me. I thoroughly enjoy going out socially in my free time with friends and family. Fitness is another necessary aspect of my life that i find to be important for my health and well-being, this could be going to the gym or walking my dogs. I am deeply excited for what is to come regarding starting sixth form and the challenges that it will involve. I have a drive to be successful and i am determined to work hard and achieve my goals in order to get where i want to be.
I started my role at adidas on the 15th of October 2023 and I currently still work here. My role at Adidas involves me being based on the shop floor, specifically the footwear department. This consists of taking customers requests for a particular size or style of a shoe, and this requires me being able to efficiently and effectively communicate with a radio to the back of house so that they can fulfil my request for the shoe. I am also able to provide alternatives if we do not have a specific shoe available. This enhances my customer service skills as I have to interact with lots of people daily, in a busy environment, by answering questions and solving any issues that customers may have. On a closing shift I am also be responsible for doing a manual scan of the whole footwear section to see what needs to be replenished for the next day, this involves going in the back and pulling those items. I also ensure that the department is at a good standard and visually appealing for customers the next day. I am encouraged to get people to sign up to Adidas in order to get discounts and points on their Adidas account and I regularly meet my sign up target that gets set for each shift. Furthermore I frequently get asked throughout the day to serve customers on the MPOS stations where they wold receive a quicker service. (References available upon request)
During my work experience week at Footsteps nursery, I worked with many different children. I learned how to be responsible and observant as I was assigned three key children to spend time with throughout the day. Using my creativity and imagination I would set up various tasks for the children that would keep them entertained as well as helping them learn. It was essential for me to show good team work and communication skills with the other nursery nurses in order to keep a safe environment for the children and it allowed me to put my ideas and suggestions forward. Overall, here are the key skills that I developed during my work experience week:
During the football season i assist Brian Stone in the selling of football merchandise at the Molineux stadium at his stall. This requires me to take both card and cash payments from the customers. Before the match begins there is high demand and customers to serve, it is essential that i have good communication skills with both the customer and my employer to ensure the smooth running of the sales and maintaining a good reputation. By doing this role i have gained a lot of confidence and social skills from mixing with a wide range of people.
I was employed as a support worker for the Epic HAF Easter 2023 programme as well as the Epic HAF summer 2024 programme. My role consisted of interacting and supporting young children that are underprivileged, and to provide a fun and comforting environment for them to play and socialise. I was expected to greet parents and the children at the start of the day, encouraging them to engage in craft and outdoor activities as well as show support when needed, highlighting any issues or concerns to lead staff using good communication skills and teamwork. Finally, at the end of the day organising and cleaning was required.
