As Director of Video Games and Certification, I work closely with key stakeholders in government and across all of the Screen Sectors to provide advice and guidance on the application processes for all of the cultural tests, co-production treaties and policies relating to all of the Audio-Visual Expenditure Credits (AVEC) for film, High-end, Animation Television, Children’s Television and the Video Games Expenditure Credits (VGEC) for Video Games.
Since the introduction of the tax incentives for the Video games sector, I have been engaging with the UK games industry and have organised four BFI video games days across the UK focusing on culture and business and since 2023 I have been leading the work of the BFI to support the UK Games sector as part of the BFI’s 10 year strategy, Screen Culture 2033.
I I regularly speak on panels at conferences and events to such as the Children’s Media Conference, the Develop Games conference and many others. In 2019 I was selected as one of the GI Biz 100 women in the UK Games Industry. I am an ambassador and former trustee for the Video Games industry’s charity ‘Games Aid’ and continue to co-organise the annual Gala Night. I am also an Ambassador for AutisticaPlay the video games arm of the charity Autistica, a Patron for Safe in Our World, the video games industry mental health charity and a member of BAFTA and Women in Film and TV.
