I have had ten years experience of working in diverse classroom environments and have gained strategies to help me understand and work with students who struggle in the school environment.
I have clear classroom expectations of behavior and apply these in a caring and nurturing manner that enables students to grow emotionally and learn how to express their feelings in different ways.
I strive to provide a classroom environment that helps students to feel calm and safe, and where they can challenge themselves emotionally and educationally without fear of 'getting it wrong'
I believe that one of the most important skills is being able to build positive relationships, with students and other members of staff.
I have led attendance in my current school and have improved attendance by developing relationships with struggling students and parents.
I am currently training to be a SENCO. The course finishes in October 2024.
During my career at my current school I have been Head of Primary, Assistant Head teacher and Deputy Headteacher.
I have three dogs and walk them most weekends and holidays. There are some beautiful walks in my local area and walking my dogs on the beach is my therapy.
When reading or watching films, my favorites are true crime, comedy and comedy.
