Providing memory assessments and reviews for people experiencing cognitive impairment in the community. Offering support, education and guidance for patients, carers, families and friends. Referring patients and/or their carers to statutory and non-statutory organisations in their communities.
Being part of an innovative NHS sponsored scheme of offering non-medical support and care navigation for people living in the community, aged 50 plus, living with chronic health conditions and being at risk of hospitalisation. We were the forerunners of current social prescribing roles which have since been introduced into every GP practice. Sadly, the funding for this project did not continue.

My first role after finishing University was to support children and young people with their mental health difficulties in the community.
Providing administrative and secretarial support to clinicians within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Stroud. Feeling inspired by the nurses in this service, I decided to embark on a full-time University degree in Mental Health Nursing in order to be able to work clinically in this field.
