Angus Nicholson

I am Housemaster of School House, the largest Senior Boys Boarding House at the Dragon School Oxford and also a Head of Department with over 14 years in Pastoral and Academic Leadership roles. The Dragon has a global reputation for academic, extra-curricular, pastoral and philanthropic excellence. It sets standards amongst national prep schools for its exceptional and inspirational educational community. This experience coupled with my recent M Ed Qualification in Leadership and Management has enabled me to seek a new challenge.

• Interests • Sports – rugby, cricket and athletics. I played first team rugby for many years and am a member of Oxford Harlequins Rugby Club where I support training as much as possible. I am also a member of Cumnor Cricket Club where I play and support as much as my professional life allows. • Sailing- I have sailed all of my life at national level and sail as a recreational pastime with my family. • Devon coastline – I own a house in the heart of the South Hams, an area of outstanding natural beauty where I enjoy family holidays with my wife and children. • Walking and cycling – I have done these throughout my life latterly in Oxfordshire and the South Hams and find coastal paths in Devon inspiring. • Renovation of boats and yachts – I thrive on the idea of bringing things back to their former glory and have renovated several sea vessels as well as my Devon home.
