Over the past 19 years, I have worked in education as a Computer Science, ICT, and Business teacher at Coombeshead Academy. During this time, I have had the privilege of leading and developing curriculum for various key stages, creating comprehensive schemes of work for all year groups. This includes designing lessons with differentiated activities, assigning homework, and preparing end-of-unit assessments.
Throughout my tenure at Coombeshead Academy, I have undertaken a variety of roles, such as lead assessor for BTEC Nationals in Enterprise, subject assessor for Cambridge Nationals in Creative iMedia, serving as a CEOP trained e-Safety Ambassador. I have also facilitated computer clubs, contributed to student voice initiatives, organised after-school clubs, and coordinated educational residential trips.
For the first 13 years, I served as a Post-16 tutor, a role that offered valuable challenges, allowing me to guide students both in their academic progress and in a pastoral capacity. In my later years at Coombeshead, I transitioned to tutoring KS3 and KS4 students, a shift that introduced a new set of challenges and learning experiences.
