I am a dedicated and compassionate professional with a diverse background, notable for attention to detail, adaptability, and planning acumen with the friendliest demeanour that enhances interpersonal interactions. Volunteering at an NHS hospital has allowed me to develop and demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting patients, families, and healthcare professionals in a compassionate and efficient manner. My natural empathy and excellent communication skills enable me to provide comfort and reassurance to patients who may be experiencing anxiety, loneliness, or uncertainty during their time in the hospital.
1. Supporting elderly or vulnerable patients by physically escorting them to their destinations when needed, providing directions to wards, outpatient clinics, diagnostic services, and consultation rooms to visitors.
2. Children/Patient Support in reading to patients or playing games to lift their spirits, particularly in paediatric or long-stay wards. Additionally, I acquired experience in the support for discharged patients—collecting discharge medications from the pharmacy, aid in wheelchair transportation.
3. Infection control, i adhered to strict infection control protocols such as hand hygiene and PPE requirements, i took sensibility in my role ensuring waiting areas are clean, tidy, and safe for patients and visitors and reporting hazards.
4. Administration, my administrative duties covered - restocking and organising medical supplies in storage areas, helping to set up patient meal trays, setting up information booths and handing out leaflets during health promotion events and helping with follow-up appointment bookings.
My role involved engaging visitors with insightful knowledge about artworks, creating a welcoming gallery experience, and building strong client relationships. Duties include handling sales transactions, maintaining meticulous artwork displays, active promotion, and handle administrative tasks such as inventory management. What I successfully achieved in the role, consisted of keen front-of-house skills, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for art to connect clients with meaningful pieces while ensuring smooth day-to-day gallery operations.
I was responsible to assist in maintaining and managing the physical space and services (e.g. Gym) within the community building. Tasks included ensuring cleanliness, performing minor repairs, setting up spaces for events, and managing supplies. My experience covered handling security, opening and closing the facility, and occasional servicing with community programs. Essentially, I ensured the building and reception was functional, welcoming, and safe for local members & visitors.
My role as a workshop facilitator, especially with children, consisted of creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment. I initiated arts & crafts that developed curiosity, sparked creativity, and guided children through hands-on activities through drawing, drama and play. The role involved designing interactive sessions, managing group dynamics, offering clear instructions, and ensuring every child feels valued and supported.
