During my 13 years in the building industry i have gone from knowing nothing about the industry or the products to being someone my regular customers can depend on when needed.
I began as an entry level sales assistant and have progressed to being the branch supervisor. During this time I learned all the products we do like electrical, plumbing, plastering.
I have also gained my C1 class license and I used to have a HIAB license which was ALLMI accredited until it lapsed due to us not having that vehicle in branch anymore.
For the past 3 years i have been a part of Wolseleys "colleague forum" where I have been a point of contact for every member of staff in my region to pass on their thoughts and concerns too about the business. I then passed them onto the senior management team including the CEO at quarterly meetings and then helped to facilitate any changes that came from the forum.
I'm currently "First aid in the workplace" trained by St Johns ambulance in Carlisle but could probably do with a refresher as its been 2 years since i done it last
I am confident on computers, I use Excel and word on a daily basis for branch reports i also use Outlook and Teams all day to interact with customers and suppliers
I have set up Pre-stocktaking procedures up in multiple branches which they have all fully adopted going forward and have commented on how much it makes it easier
I'm very confident on the phone, I currently take a lot of calls throughout the day from customers placing orders or checking to see what we have in stock
