• Project Manager for the entire production and delivery of the annual report & accounts (ARA) for Peel Hunt, an AIM-listed investment bank. Managed Board members, C-suite and key stakeholders by leading interviews and forums to cultivate content. Wrote draft versions of executive statements for Strategic Report of the ARA, reviewed directly by executives.
• Project Manager for the Group-wide implementation of the new EU regulation, DORA. Ensure operational resilience across the Group, and its critical business activities. Perform risk management and uplift this to EU regulated standards for financial entities. Implementation includes presentations to Executive Board and Risk Committee, and coordination with external law firms, consultants and Big 4 auditors
• Equity research portal: Business manager responsible for innovation and functioning of the cutting edge research modelling platform and research portal. Peel Hunt have the widest equity research coverage of mid-cap & growth companies in the UK.
• Equities dashboard creation: optimised revenue generation across business divisions by developing deeper analysis and insight between IB corporates and institutional sales coverage. The equities distribution team has over 1200 institutional relationships.
• Ongoing strategic and tactical support, reporting into the Head of Research and Head of Equities, to optimise business performance.
• ACA qualification from the ICAEW: All First Time Passes with 75% Overall Average.
• Key clients were varied across multiple industries. Banking clients included retail, investment, and central banks: TSB plc, Citigroup Inc., and Bank of England.
• Strong technical understanding of accounts preparation under UK GAAP and IFRS, including PCAOB and SOX requirements. Audited single entity and Group financial statements, with client turnover of 10-figures.
• Worked in project-based teams ranging from 3 to 70 KPMG staff. Managed junior staff and was accountable for their deliverables, reporting directly into Partners and Directors.
• Extensive knowledge of financial instruments and impairment of assets under IAS 39 and IFRS 9. Responsible for concluding on the FY22 significant audit risk for a major financial client: impairment loss provisioning for a 10-figure mortgage portfolio.
• Founder and Chairman of the KPMG Tennis Society; drove it to be the largest KPMG Sports Society in the UK.
• Managed department operations, which accrues 7-figure profits per annum.
• Drove overall revenue up 14% across my tenure through securing 12 new tournaments and countless additional services at existing events.
• Significantly reduced operational costs by 9% pro rata by developing effective processes.
• Negotiated business contracts across 4 continents. Constructed the legal contracts and invoices.
• Enhanced client relations with stakeholders, tournament chiefs & officiating teams.
• Annual resourcing of 60+ staff and millions of pounds worth of equipment.
