• I worked on a site for the construction of a Tescos Super Store. I was initially concerned with the work that the site forman ordered me to carryout, due to my lack of experience. I was Fresh out of my apprentiship, and was given the task of installing all electrical components within the loading bay at high and low level, working from engineers plans with 2 x electricians mates under my instruction. I was also instructed to install all electrical switchgear withing the switchroom.
• The Electrical foreman asked if I had finished an apprentiship and as I had, he offered that I should be skilled enough to carry out the works. I was thrown into the deep end, and I thouroughly enjoyed the work, enjoyed the problem solving, the management of the two mates and planning of the work.
• At the end of the job, I moved back to London but the Electrical Foreman offered me full time employment within his company. I rejected the offer but thanked him. His pushing me out of my young comfort zone was a life lesson.
