- Vast experience of working with young person and for the last four years, proven experience of working with children and young persons aged 11 - 18 involved in serious organised crime and exploitation, the highest level of challenging behaviour.

- Over 30 years experience of criminal legislation including child protection legislation, including liaising with the home office around the new offences of "Child criminal exploitation".

- Leadership skills, proven leadership skills which include over 15 years leadership with Northumbria Police, which included regular recognition of such awards, Northumbria Police team of the year, and most recently in 2023 awarded service of the year for our early intervention serious organised crime team who specifically work with young children.

- Communication Skills, proven communication skills, including over 14 years experience of suicide and hostage negotiations, multi agency partnership, including safeguarding boards, serious youth violence review panels, strategic exploitation groups and multi agency Risk outside the Home panels.

- Health and safety, regular compliance with health and safety and risk assessements.

Handled stressful situations calmly, ensuring safety and order were maintained which included over 13 years experience as a hostage/suicide negotiator.

• Spearheaded initiatives aimed at youth engagement in crime prevention activities. Which included being the lead force for work around Novel Psychoactive substances which resulted in a Panorama programme.
• Collaborated effectively with other partners for successful operations.
• lead investigator for numerous high profile criminal cases and use and knowledge of other civil orders resulting in the closure of a number of licensed premises.
