Selected Project Experience.

Chingford, Eastern Capital Delivery Framework (Network Rail), York, Designer.

Andrew had to take up responsibility as Designer for the Chingford S&C (CP7) points heating package, which proved to be a very complex points heating package, assisted in TQs to design a viable solution to resolve the many site-related non-compliances. Andrew delivered points, heating package, and Signaling power needs analyses in very tight timescales, and led coordination with the CREs and Checker to deliver the packages with good quality.

Kensal Green, Eastern Capital Delivery Framework (Network Rail), Leeds, designer.

Andrew was the sole designer of Kensal Green.

Andrew’s efforts were recognized for this project, as Andrew was nominated and received a Silver Quality Exemplar Star Award from the business.

Date: August 2023 – July 2024

Old Oak Common, SRSA Enhancement/HS2, Leeds, Designer.

Andrew was a designer and supported various packages associated with the Old Oak Common Depot as part of the lineside packages that were awarded to SRSA. Andrew has designed the Lineside LV designs, such as Points Heating, Junction lighting, and MOS/LCC supplies. Andrew has assisted with cable management plans and carried out the associated design work on each package, whether it be junction lighting using DialuxEVO/ElectricalOM, or new DNO supply for all proposed future assets.

Wixams, SRSA Enhancement, Govia Thameslink Railway, Leeds, Station Platform, and Footbridge Designer.

Andrew was a designer and assisted the CRE of the project on the platform and footbridge MEP design. Andrew fully coordinated with lighting manufacturers, as there is no preferred external lighting manufacturer, as per Govia Thameslink Railway.

Andrew developed the TQ in an effort to bring in efficiencies for the MEP design and construction, as AECOM was given the project contract at the Form B Detailed Design stage after the project was on hold for two years. TQs were raised after finding various discrepancies between the Form A design and the CR-T, such as the topic on required average lux values, and emergency lighting procedures.

Andrew carried out the lighting design on DialuxEVO with Thorlux manufacturer design to the new lighting standard BS12464-2, Section 22, with 50 lux average, 0.4 uniformity, and 2 no footbridge lighting with handrail lighting and anti-climb lighting.

Once the lighting design was frozen and incorporated for other disciplines, Andrew carried out the electrical calculations and the drawings, such as load assessments, cable calculations using ElectricalOM, and completed the associated drawings for the station, such as the main schematic, platform layout plan, earthing and bonding schematic, cubicle general arrangement drawings, and elevation section drawings.

Andrew carried out coordination with the relevant disciplines: Civils, Telecomms, Architecture, OLE, Fire Strategy, etc., incorporating all the relevant information from the disciplines into the MEP design.
