I consider myself to be a highly skilled professional with extensive expertise in risk assessment, public area safety checks, and ethical conduct. I also pride myself on my communication skill and my ability to work as part of a team.
I hold both an SIA Security Guarding Licence and a Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) Licence, ensuring adherence to security procedures and company policies. I have a proficiency in alarm systems operation, CCTV knowledge, and access control systems. I also take pride in my decision-making under pressure and effective report-writing skills.
I am also committed to maintaining safety through property protection capabilities, vehicle inspection techniques, and people evacuation procedures. My career goals include advancing within the security sector while upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
In August 2025, I accepted the position of Park Ranger with Cobra Security NI. My duties include the locking, unlocking, and patrolling of parks in the Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council area. I also respond to alarm and CCTV activations at various council buildings.
I received a TUPE transfer from Checkmate to G4S and continued my time as a Patrol & Response Driver where my main responsibilities involved locking & unlocking of business premises, conducting routine patrols and attending alarm activations.
I continued to gain experience conducting risk assessments, creating detailed incident reports and welcoming and training new staff to the team.
In September 2014 I transferred within G4S to a static guarding position at Lisburn JBO. My duties here included upholding site access control policies, escorting visitors, carrying out health and safety assessments, conducting routine tests and inspections of fire alarms and associated safety items, patrolling the premises, and maintaining a safe work environment for both customers and staff.
In October 2020 I again transferred to a new site at Maze Long Kesh. Here I controlled the access and egress of vehicles onto site, performing checks as and when necessary. I also regularly patrolled the site physically and via CCTV, maintaining a strong security presence for clients.
In July 2025 I left my position with G4S to pursue other opportunities.
As a Patrol & Response Driver for Checkmate Guarding & Security I performed Lock ups & Unlocks at premises, conducted site patrols and responded to intruder and fire alarms.
I also took on additional work conducting site risk assessments for all new keyholding clients. I gained a great deal of experience learning all facets of the security industry as it was small company where you often had to wear many hats at once. The company went into liquidation in Sept 2011.
In my first job out of High School I started as a Warehouse Operative at ILP Plaswood where I filed records to maintain accurate stock documentation, maintained safety regulations by enforcing strict adherence to company policies and assisted in logistics planning for seamless transportation of goods.I also inspected goods upon arrival, reported any discrepancies or damages.
In 2004 I took on a supervisory position overseeing a team of 10 workers. This continued to be a hands on role working in the warehouse while overseeing and maintaining the performance of the staff in my team. It was a very rewarding role and taught me a lot about communication and respect while working as part of a team.
In addition to holding both an SIA Security Guarding Licence (Expires 26/11/27) and a Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) Licence (Expires 26/09/26) I also have accumulated the following skills/assets :
