Following a career in the Royal Navy as a submariner, including active duty in the Falklands, I remained committed to work at sea and later joined the Merchant Navy and then the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. I have always been happy to develop new skills to ensure that I have been employed, in between these experiences and since. From 2014 to 2025 I then worked for HM Prison Services on the Isle of Wight, first as a chef and then as a Prison Officer. I had to give up this work in February this year to become a carer for my wife but now find myself in a position where I would like to find some part time work.
My work experiences mean that I have dealt with a wide range of people, have developed good communication skills and have to take initiative, sometimes in very difficult circumstances.
