Lease and Asset Management

I was designated to and concluded the successful transformation of the City of London Medical Centre building back to its Category A (CAT A) status. I effectively engaged with and maintained communication channels with both the HCA legal team and the landlord's representatives, providing regular progress reports to these parties, as well as other relevant stakeholders. My responsibilities also extended to drafting a comprehensive works specification, ensuring the agreement of the project scope and timelines aligned with the client's legal obligations as stipulated in the lease terms.

Joint Commercial Venture

Establishing a new Radiotherapy suite was a collaborative effort in partnership with the NHS and HCA. I was required to navigate the intricate process of obtaining the necessary license to make alterations from the landlord, which in this case was Guys and St Thomas. I took a hands on approach to oversee the design phase, ensuring a smooth and efficient build. My efforts extended to fostering a successful working relationship between the two organisations.

Design and Strategy

I was tasked and assigned with responsibility to the senior board members of the client for the purpose of generating a comprehensive options appraisal that aligns with their 5-year masterplan. This appraisal focused on the location, layout, and design of a new Outpatient Centre within a mixed-use commercial building situated in Canary Wharf. My role involved preparing a detailed report that covered various aspects, including budget, project timeline, design considerations, and risk assessment, all in line with the client's specified goals.

New Build Cancer Centre

In my role of supporting the Project Director in the development of a new 14-floor Acute Cancer Centre. My duties encompassed a wide range of tasks, such as handling commercial hospitality installations on the ground level, implementing design changes on the 14th Floor Kings College research area, and serving as the primary contact for the complex aseptic pharmacy design and commissioning of the Outpatient Department.

I also contributed to the overall project management by compiling and regularly updating the risk register and issues log, as well as producing monthly cost and progress reports for senior-level board meetings. To enhance the end-user experience during the handover process, I conducted snagging exercises utilsing the contractors' software for defect management and resolution within the 12-month close-out period.
