I am determined, passionate and focused. I always strive to push myself and achieve what I set out to do, from training in the Royal Marines to running my own company.
I really enjoy being part of a team to achieve a shared goal or vision and at the same time have my own self discipline and initiative to be able to set my own goals and work towards them.
Having run my own company for the last 10 years I very much want to give something back to my community, be part of an incredible team, and to make a difference to peoples lives.
The knowledge and experiences I have acquired in the past, along with my enthusiasm and determination, would transfer very well to a firefighter role and everything it encompasses.
The idea of helping and being of service to the wider community really appeals to me. I am a caring and empathetic person who takes great satisfaction and pride in helping others when they need it.
Having renovated several of my own homes in the past I decided to start own company which buys, renovates and sells domestic property. This has given me a very good insight and depth of knowledge in terms of:
With this decade of experience I have become very efficient at dealing with the various parties involved in property development, scheduling, resource management and how to work both within and also leading a team.
Bar manager at The Travellers Club, a private members club in Pall Mall, London.
Responsibilities included planning and organising various events including dinners and ceremonies with guests including military, parliamentary and foreign dignitaries.
My time here really helped me become very good at dealing with groups of people from many different backgrounds and of various ages and walks of life.
Dealing with such a variety of people would often require me to resolve issues and manage some quite strong personalities and expectations, especially when timing of events was crucial.
Bartender at a very busy pub in Hampstead, London.
Various duties included general bar management, function and event planning and learning very good people skills. On any given day there would always be a variety of different scenarios which would require a calm and methodical approach to members of the public.
This job in particular gave me some very useful skills in terms of dealing with members of the public and the unexpected events that can emerge, including one person have a heart attack and also having to deal with a kitchen fire.

Training at CTCRM involved:

Gliding and flying license
Gold Duke of Edinburgh award
RAF marksmanship
More recently I have also become an advanced SCUBA diver (140+ dives)
Completed the Bike Safe course with Herts police at Joint Services Academy.
This was incredibly worthwhile and I used the knowledge from this course at an RTC involving a motorcyclist earlier this year.
I have so far travelled to nearly 30 countries and am always eager for the next adventure!
Looking ahead I am planning to start rock climbing and want to complete a skydiving course.
