I have two young children of my own one is 12 and the other is 5. My 12 year old has ADHD and finds things really difficult, i have been on many training courses put on by his school to learn new ways of helping him deal with situations hes sometimes put in. I think this is good as i use this in my work place.
I have been on a proactive and first aid course which i found really interesting and learnt new things that would help me in my work place.
In puffin house i provide advice, assistance and support to young people. We attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs. I act as an appropriate role model and to work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.
I provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which young people can feel secure and free from harm. I try to have a positive relationship with the young people and always offer them support and try and give my best advice when they ask for guidance.
I try my best to help the young people to gain self control when challenging unacceptable behaviour, and making sure that they understand why some behaviours are unacceptable.
I will also check the young person's care plan and make sure that i try my best meet what is needed and also look to see if any changes have been made.
As a checkout assistant i worked operating the till by serving customers and helping them pack the goods into bags. I also had to handle money and making sure i gave the customers the correct amount of change back.
I made sure that i delivered outstanding customer service to all the customers by listening and responding to customer queries in a professional manner.
I would make sure that my work station was clean and tidy ready for the next customer to come, i will also report any complaints customers had to my line manager.
I would make sure that all bags were replaced when empty and move all trolleys and baskets back.
