Alongside studying for my GDL, I work part-time at a legal charity. I currently work within the Adults at Risk team, which provides representation for vulnerable clients, including victims of modern slavery, trafficking and torture:

• Assisting solicitors in preparing case files, drafting correspondence, conducting client interviews and gathering supporting documentation for immigration bail cases;
• Conducting comprehensive research on statutory provisions, Home Office policy and relevant case law;
• Communicating regularly with clients in prisons and detention centres to keep them updated on their case progression and support their understanding of developing immigration policy;
• Completing applications and evidence bundles, and drafting grounds for submission to courts and tribunals;
• Participating in legal surgeries within detention centres to promote access to justice for asylum seekers and foreign nationals.

• Supported the daily pastoral care of young participants, ensuring their wellbeing and engagement throughout an intensive summer programme;
• Acted as a key liaison between the host school and a commercial theatre venue, coordinating logistics and ensuring clear communication across sites;
• Ensured full compliance with child safeguarding policies, responding appropriately to concerns and maintaining a safe and professional environment.

• Supported multiple initiatives and projects, including a social skills group for autistic children and an emotional regulation support programme;
• Researched, planned, and led sessions for small groups of children struggling to access the literacy curriculum effectively;
• Delivered one-to-one support by breaking down learning and using a range of creative strategies to enable students to access the curriculum and maintain progress alongside their peers;
• Managed relationships and conflicts between students and teachers, ensuring that vulnerable students were supported and included.

• Promoted to supervisor after two months of working as bar staff;
• Supervised daily bar operations, coordinating with kitchen and front-of-house teams to provide high-quality service and a friendly first point of contact for all customers;
• Resolved customer complaints professionally and efficiently;
• Trained new staff members to ensure service was consistent and in line with company policies and values.

While working as a Bar Supervisor in the evenings, I also cared for two children as a Nanny.

• Created a supportive and organised routine that balanced both children's school and extra-curricular commitments;
• Communicated consistently and clearly with the parents, teachers, and home tutors, ensuring a well-rounded approach to care;
• Managed daily meal planning, food shopping, and preparation of evening meals for the family;

• Provided a welcoming, professional first point of contact for all guests, ensuring an enjoyable customer experience;
• Handled customer queries and complaints with professionalism and tact, ensuring swift resolution;
• Coordinated closely with bar and kitchen teams to manage service in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
