Motivated and compassionate mental health support worker with over three years of experience working on mental health, homelessness, and substance abuse issues in the community and in a crisis home. Extensive experience working with people in crisis, using active listening, de-escalation, and communication skills to help them recover.
As part of my current role, I work with multidisciplinary teams, including MerseyCare, to provide the best possible care and recovery outcomes for individuals. This includes Microsoft Teams meetings, referral assessments, emails, phone calls, and face-to-face discussions about the people in our care. I currently work alone so that I can manage my time efficiently, work flexible hours, and make independent decisions.
Currently pursuing my lead care worker level three apprenticeship and also keeping up to date with skills and knowledge through continuing professional development. Experience working with individuals who have complex mental health, substance misuse issues, and aggressive behaviour as well as performing CPR and using Naloxone for potential opioid overdoses.
