I have been in this Role for three years my role is caring for patients with respiratory conditions such as COPD and Bronchiectasis my role includes.

• .Carrying out full physical assessment on patients.

• Chest auscultation

• Provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory Conditions.
• Escalating patient care appropriately and within a timely manner.
• Administer aerosol treatments effectively enhancing patients breathing capabilities.

As part of my role I am able to analyse capillary blood gas results accurately enabling appropriate changes in their oxygen therapy as needed.

I carry out assessments with acute COPD exacerbations in their home to try and prevent hospital admissions.

I work within the hospital as well providing an in reach service supporting patients with COPD and facilitating discharges back into the community.

I collaborate with G.Ps, virtual ward and the community nurses to provide a high quality care to respiratory patients.

I have a caseload of 40 patients that I manage which I manage well and am able to prioritise care where needed. I ensure that I maintain professional knowledge about the latest respiratory therapies through continues learning and development.

I came straight from qualifying into critical care where I learnt a wealth of valuable nursing skills such as.
